Aircraft Capabilities

What can you expect in additional performance and capabilities? The modified aircraft are reporting the following flight and maintenance characteristics:

  • Climb performance from high density altitude is greatly enhanced. If you maintain your current climb speed, a much higher rate of vertical speed is achieved.
  • Your time to altitude is reduced. Since you are at higher altitudes sooner, reduced fuel flow is obtained more quickly, reducing overall fuel burn during the trip.
  • Increased cruise speed at slightly increased fuel flow compared to -5 engine. Aircraft are achieving in excess of 300 Knots cruise at 27K Feet
  • Engines become temperature limited much later during climb. Typically, your -5 engine starts requiring power reduction due to temperature limits at 6,000 feet. With the -10T, you maintain full power to 15,000 feet before pulling the power back due to temperature limits.
  • Increased warranty on -10 turbine module. Standard warranty on -5 components is 12 months. With the installation of -10 turbine module, the turbine module warranty is 24 months. Very attractive MSP rates. See attached warranty information in Section "E" as provided by Honeywell (AlliedSignal) concerning details on complete engine warranty and the MSP program details in Section "D".
  • Change of temperature indication system from ITT to EGT system. This change enhances maintainability.
  • Reduced hot section costs due to decreased blade erosion of -10 hot section.
  • No Single Red Line (SRL) computers required as compared with the other -10 powered aircraft. This eliminates another potentially expensive component in the aircraft system.
  • This modification has full approval of both Honeywell (AlliedSignal) and Twin Commander Aircraft. The engine can be maintained at any Honeywell (AlliedSignal) approved service center.
